Privacy policy

Last updated: 15 September 2026

Who we are

This policy explains how Expert Management Group Pty Ltd (ABN 26 610 187 089), trading as Cleanmatic, handles your personal information. We're bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

By "personal information" we mean information about an identified individual, or someone who can reasonably be identified from it.

What we collect

  • Contact and order details — your name, email, phone number, shipping and billing addresses, and what you ordered.
  • Payment details — handled by our payment providers. We receive a confirmation and the last four digits of your card; we never see or store your full card number.
  • Account details — if you create an account, your login details and saved preferences.
  • Your messages — what you write to us by email or through the contact form, including reviews and photos you send us.
  • Device and usage data — IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and how you arrived at our site.

You can browse the site without telling us who you are, and you can deal with us anonymously or under a pseudonym for general enquiries. We can't ship an order without a real name and address.

How we collect it

Mostly directly from you — when you order, create an account, subscribe, leave a review or contact us. Some is collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies when you use the site. We may also receive information from our service providers and advertising partners, such as whether an ad led to a visit.

Why we use it

  • To take, process and deliver your order, and to handle returns and warranty claims
  • To answer your questions and provide support
  • To send order and shipping notifications
  • To send marketing emails, if you've opted in
  • To show you relevant advertising
  • To improve our products, site and service
  • To detect and prevent fraud, and to meet our legal obligations

Marketing, and how to stop it

We only send marketing emails to people who've opted in. Every one has an unsubscribe link, and we act on it promptly. You can also email support@cleanmatic.com.au and ask us to stop. We'll still send transactional messages about orders you've placed.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your personal information. We share it with:

  • Shopify — our e-commerce platform, which hosts the store and processes order and browsing data on our behalf
  • Payment providers — to process your payment and screen for fraud
  • Carriers — your name, address and phone number, so they can deliver your parcel
  • Email and reviews platforms — to send emails you've subscribed to and to collect and display product reviews
  • Advertising and analytics platforms, including Meta (Facebook and Instagram), Google and TikTok — see below
  • Professional advisers and authorities — where we're required or permitted by law

Advertising and tracking

We use cookies, pixels and similar technologies from Meta, Google and TikTok to measure how our ads perform and to show ads to people likely to be interested in our products. This means data about your activity on our site — pages viewed, items added to cart, purchases — may be shared with those platforms and matched to your account with them, including through hashed identifiers such as your email address.

You can limit this. Your browser settings control cookies, and Meta, Google and TikTok each provide ad preference controls in your account settings on their platforms. Turning cookies off may stop parts of our site working.

Sending information overseas

Some of our service providers store or process data outside Australia — principally in the United States, Canada, Ireland and other countries where they operate data centres. By using the site and placing an order, you consent to your personal information being disclosed to these overseas recipients. We take reasonable steps to ensure they handle it consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles, but we can't control their practices once disclosed, and the Privacy Act may not apply to them.

Keeping it secure

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including using reputable platforms with encryption in transit and limiting who on our side can access customer data. No system is completely secure, though, so please don't send us sensitive information — card numbers in particular — by email.

If we have a data breach likely to cause you serious harm, we'll notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

How long we keep it

We keep your personal information for as long as we need it for the purposes above, and for as long as the law requires — tax and consumer law mean we keep order records for at least seven years. After that we destroy it or de-identify it.

Accessing and correcting your information

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it. Email support@cleanmatic.com.au. We'll respond within 30 days. There's no charge, and if we refuse a request we'll explain why in writing.

You can also ask us to delete your information. We'll do that unless we're required to keep it — for example, records of a completed sale.

Complaints

If you think we've mishandled your personal information, email support@cleanmatic.com.au with the details. We'll acknowledge within 5 business days and give you a written response within 30 days.

If you're not satisfied with how we've handled it, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner: oaic.gov.au, 1300 363 992, or GPO Box 5218, Sydney NSW 2001.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The current version is always the one on this page, and the "last updated" date at the top tells you when it changed.
